We went to dinner with our friends Todd and Susan Folk. We wanted to try a new restaurant and I found this one on a Google search.

The place is small and was packed and I thought that we would have a long wait. To my surprise we were seated immediately.

We started with a pitcher of Texas margaritas and I thought they were about average. The order of guacamole was above average and compared favorably with some of the best that we have had. Beth, Susan, and Todd stuck with traditional Mexican food that they reported was very fresh and above average. I broke with the usual fare and had a bowl of creamy crab and shrimp soup. It was delicious! The soup is served with a side of jalapeño corn bread.

The company was great, my dinner was good, margaritas were OK. Beth and I have decide that we will stop at this restaurant on the way back home after tennis matches in nearby Roswell Park. We usually stopped at El Zorrito but this restaurant will replace that one.

We went to this restaurant to check out the only Mexican restaurant we found listed on St. Simon's Island.

The  guacamole was mushy and the Texas margaritas were anything but top shelf. We even ordered a shot of Gran Marnier to try and liven the mix but even that did not work. I guess when you are the only Mexican restaurant on an island you can get away with lower standards.

We went to this restaurant to check out the only Mexican restaurant we found listed in Bryson City, NC.

We were in NC with our friends Sherri & Lee Coursey for a relaxing Valentines weekend. Of course we could not pass up an opportunity to have Mexican food since the next night at the B&B we were going to be served a sumptuous 7 course meal.

We started out with Beth ordering the frozen Texas margarita pitcher. We were asked how many extra shots we wanted. Beth ordered 5 extra shots. Since it was or first time at this restaurant we did not know what to expect. The server, Viridiana, brought a pitcher of frozen margaritas with 5 side shots. We were at liberty to mix some or all of the extra shots. I think we mixed all of the shots.

We told Viridiana that we did not want just the plain guacamole and she said that she would fix something for us. She returned with an avocado sliced into sections with the seed in the middle of the dish. It turned out to be surprisingly good! From what I remember the other food was typical Mexican.
