Stopped here after tennis practice one night with Carol & Don Shifflett. Typical menu, nothing outstanding.

We went to dinner with our friends Todd and Susan Folk. We had a choice of two new restaurants to visit and chose this one because it was on the way to the other one call Cinco.

The place was packed and we were given an estimate of a 45 minute wait. We went to the bar for a pitcher of margaritas to kill time while we waited. We found a slot at the end of the bar but there were no chairs. The wait staff took care of that and got two chairs for the ladies. Nice touch. The restaurant was pretty accurate in their estimation of our waiting time and we were seated about 45 minutes after arrival.

The menu is not the typical Mexican menu but the prices are in line with what you would pay at a Tijuana Joes type of restaurant. In fact we started off with Calamari for an appetizer, unusual for a Mexican restaurant. I had Arrachera (skirt steak). The food was very good and we enjoyed the meal.

The waiter, Jorge, told us the place has been open for two months. Judging from the crowd the word has gotten around that is is a nice place.

The company was great, my dinner was good, margaritas were good. We probably would return with the Folks or any of our other friends.

Additional comments:

We revisited this restaurant and had the Guacamole. It was very chunky and tasted great. We also had margaritas made with Patron. They recommend that this type of margarita not be served frozen. It was good but I thought a bit pricey, also the 1/2 pitcher that we had contained too much ice. The food was very good and I would still rate this restaurant high on my list. Ratings remain unchanged.

On our last visit, where we learned that the owners had sold Monterey, we renewed acquaintances with Alex who was once at Monterey and were introduced to the owner, Jose. Crab cake tapas are delicious!

Stopped here after our last tennis match of the season with Carol & Don Shifflett and Jen & Mark Wieland. Food was above average and margaritas were also above average. Place was pretty busy for an early Sunday afternoon.

We started with Guacamole that was pretty chunky. I had fish tacos and Beth had Pork Taco Carnitas that we both thought were good. I did not keep track of what the others had but heard no complaints.
